Consumer Health Products Canada and its members in action

Research has shown that Canadians are taking steps to manage more aspects of their own health and are seeking support to enable them to do so. In response, Consumer Health Products Canada and our members have set an ambitious goal for ourselves and that is to have self-care broadly recognized and supported as being an integral part of Canadian health care.

How do we do this?

CHP Canada and its members are working with health professionals, governments, and the broader consumer health products industry and its partners to put the necessary components of this vision in play.

What can consumers expect?

When our vision is achieved, consumers will have a wider selection of consumer health products from which to choose, and they can be confident that all of the products they see on the market are safe, of high quality, and do what they claim to do. Consumers will have access to all the information they need to select and use a product responsibly, and can feel confident that the information on all consumer health product labels and in advertisements is truthful. And finally, Canadians will be confident that substances used in health products have been proven to be safe to both the environment and to human health, and that they can dispose of their unused products in a manner that is safe to the environment.
