2013 Fall Conference – Speaker Spotlight: Jeff Morrison

Following is the third Speaker Spotlight highlighting speaker details for CHP Canada’s 2013 Fall Conference The Health-Driven Consumer, taking place September 26-27 at the Sheraton on the Falls Hotel in Niagara Falls, ON.

The speaker spotlight for week three is on Mr. Jeff Morrison, Director Government Relations and Public Affairs, CPhA:

Since May 2010, Jeff Morrison has served as Director of Government Relations and Public Affairs with the Canadian Pharmacists Association, where he is responsible for advocacy, stakeholder relations, policy development, media relations, and external communication for the association. Prior to this role, Jeff served as President of the Association of the Canadian Engineering Companies from 2008 to 2009 and as Director of Government Relations and Director of Environment for the Canadian Construction Association from 2000 to 2008. Jeff has also worked for the Association of Universities and Colleges of Canada and several Members of Parliament in the 1990s.

Jeff received his Bachelors of Arts from the University of Ottawa in Political Science and History in 1994 and received his Masters of Arts from the University of Ottawa in science politique canadienne in 1996. He is active in the community, currently serving as President of the Board of Directors of the Centretown Community Health Centre, President of a condominium Board, served on the Executives of softball and curling leagues, and previously on the Fundraising Committee of Operation Come Home. He is an avid runner, recently completing his 7th marathon – as well as active in softfall, curling and tennis.

As a speaker on Day 2 of the 2013 Fall Conference, Jeff will be presenting the new services that pharmacists are able to provide, the benefits of these services to the needs and demands of the health-driven consumer, as well as identify some of the barriers that exist to preventing pharmacists from being able to deliver more fulsome patient care.
