The “Associate Member Spotlight” is a chance for CHP Canada to highlight to Active members and the consumer health products industry the Associate members who have contributed to the achievements of CHP Canada and the success of the consumer health products industry as a whole.
Each month a different Associate member will be put in the “spotlight”. This will include being featured on our website homepage, blog, and e-newsletter, outlining the fantastic services and/or products the Associate member has available to our Active membership.

We conducted a short interview with Rob McEwan, Vice President at Argyle Public Relationships, which will provide a better understanding of what this great company has to offer:
1. Tell us about Argyle Public Relationships:
We are one of Canada’s largest and most acclaimed independent public relations firms. After 35 years in business as Argyle Communications, the firm recently started operating under a new brand: Argyle Public Relationships. It’s a unique positioning that reflects the massive growth of public relations in the social media age of empowered, engaged audiences. As our new tagline suggests, we believe that’s where the new PR leads.
2. What are the biggest challenges you face as a public relations firm in Canada?
While PR has many obvious benefits – such as the engagement of influencers and stakeholders to benefit brands in credible, cost-effective ways – some of its benefits are intangible but essential, such as the greater resilience of a business or brand in the face of a crisis. That is why we strive to give our clients state-of-the-art measurement at multiple levels: from quantitative metrics to qualitative ones that can help the brand understand its publics’ awareness, understanding, engagement and trust. The result is both stronger brands and stronger businesses.
3. Tell us one thing about Argyle Public Relationships that the consumer health products industry might not know about you:
Many consumer health clients know us for our award-winning work in telling brand stories and building brand relationships with key publics. What they may not know is that our experience is just as deep in disciplines such as corporate and public affairs: we’ve managed high-stakes public health issues and crises for clients that include governments, industry associations, pharmaceutical manufacturers, public hospitals, child welfare agencies and many others. We have also consulted on corporate social investment programs that have helped to build trust in brands. This blend of expertise has enabled us to develop long-standing relationships with medical experts, health professional associations, patient advocacy groups and public sector decision-makers.
This experience and these relationships give us a foundation to build strong partnerships that deliver measurable results for consumer health product clients, while advancing public health in Canada.
4. Tell us how you became involved with CHP Canada:
Argyle proudly supports many companies that make evidence-based over-the-counter (OTC) medicines and natural health products (NHPs). Our firm helps increase understanding of brand benefits, product use and compliance, health issues and diseases. We are leaders in our own industry associations, holding senior volunteer leadership positions and earning the industry’s highest local, national and global awards. When one of our clients introduced us to CHP Canada, it was an easy decision for us to become a member, so that we can champion health product innovation and access to safe and effective self-care options for Canadians.
