WEBINAR: Chemicals Management Plan – Overview and Updates

Join CHP Canada on Thursday, July 25, 2019 for a one-hour webinar (10:00 – 11:00 am) with experts from Health Canada and Environment and Climate Change Canada as they provide an overview and update on the Chemicals Management Plan.


This presentation will serve as an overview for the Chemicals Management Plan (CMP), describing how risk assessments and risk management actions are taken under the Canadian Environmental Protection Act (CEPA). It will focus on actions to mitigate risk from cosmetics and natural health products (NHPs), in addition to providing updates on pertinent substances under the CMP. 

Key takeaways from the webinar will include:

  • Learning about the CMP process from assessments to risk management actions (e.g. regulatory and non-regulatory tools) for substances;
  • Learning about how Health Canada mitigates risks from substances used in cosmetics and/or NHPs;
  • Receiving assessment and risk management updates on current substances of interest to our industry sector, including: boron, benzophenone, anthraquinones, pigments and dyes, microbeads, triclosan and VOC concentration limits; and,
  • Learning about the Revised in Commerce List (R-ICL) and current activities.
