Way Back Wednesday Anecdote – London Blitz
It’s Way Back Wednesday again!
Today’s post is dedicated to a recent anecdote that Gerry found while reading a biography on Winston Churchill. We thought we would share!
British Politician, Winston Churchill stated that during the London Blitz in World War Two, the British were trying to figure out how the Nazis were guiding their planes to their targets.
They deduced that they were using radio beams to guide their their bombers. They code-named the technology “headache.” The RAF brain trust came up with an antidote. They broadcasted their own radio beams at the same frequency, but at different angles in order to throw the Nazi bombers off course. They code-named the technology “Aspirin.”
